For the past few years the American people have been trying to get marijuana legalized in every state. It doesn’t do any harm to your body it just relaxes you. Marijuana has been around for as long as we can remember. People still smoke it even when it’s illegal so what’s the problem with legalizing it in every state? There’s a problem in our nation today that a good portion of the American people want to see legalized in every state but the government sees otherwise. The problem we have with marijuana today is that every state either has it legal but not how many people want it legalized, and that is medical marijuana. After long periods of time you’re eventually going to notice that marijuana not only relaxes you but it’s also going to have negative effects on your brain. There’s a pro and a con to everything no matter how good it might sound. If you start using marijuana while your body is in development, your brain can start to have negative effects if it’s exposed to THC while in development especially if you’re using it often. (NIDA 2) Marijuana also can induce panic on the individual using it, increased heart rate, an increased chance of having a stroke, as well as sexual problems for males as well as a greater risk for females to contract sexually transmitted diseases. The long term effects would be, dropping out of high school, a decline of your IQ, financial difficulties, you also may be anti-social, and you might have more of a chance to become unemployed for the future if your caught smoking marijuana illegally.
