Animal Cloning Animal Cloning Has Downsides Have you heard of animal cloning? No? It exists! Most people say that they wouldn’t clone their animal. Cloning has many downsides, for example you won’t really get your animal back, it is very risky for all animals involved, and besides there are 1,000’s of shelters overflowing with animals right now! I agree with the people who are against cloning , I actually think cloning is somewhat selfish. First off, thousands and thousands of animals are in shelters right now! So many are waiting for homes, and you’re just going to spend $155,000 on a cloned animal that will probably pass away sooner anyways?!?! With the big price of cloning, it seems very risky. Their personality can be the complete opposite of your original pet! They can become dangerous, aggressive. So when you clone, you are only getting the looks of your animal, which probably didn’t even matter in the first place. Also, there are so many animals getting abused, neglected, and in shelters right now! Why not get one of them? Build another bond. Getting a shelter pet can save more than one life; it saves their life, it could save another animal being put down for space or other reasons, and it will make your life happier and happier people live longer. So yeah, save a pet, make yours better and get out of that hole of grief. I know, I know, I’ve had many pets pass away as I have always had pets. It’s really hard lose them, your best friend. Another example is when you clone your animal it is very risky! For one successful clone there are dozens of failures. Some risks are: shorter life spans, serious health problems and many birth defects! You also put the Mama dog at risk, as she is the one being forced to have these puppies with defects.
