“ I need to get to practice!” A student complained to his mom over the phone, “ I am going to miss it! Where are you?” What would a person do if he or she was unable to play a sport due to the parents’ inability to drive him or her to practices or games? Who would want to be that person? Students with licenses at the age of sixteen should have the ability to drive because it allows teenagers to mature faster while learning how to drive, and also allows teenagers to learn responsibility. Learning to drive when a person is sixteen can stand as a highly maturing experience. Maturity, meaning learning how to deal with everyday life, learning how to overcome temptations, and also learning carefulness. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety states, “ Immaturity leads to risky decisions.” According to the IIHS, teenage drivers have crash rates three times the amount of drivers over twenty. Taking responsibility for a car can stand as a preparing involvement that can teach a teenager to take care of his or her own safety as well as others’.While some parents believe that children should have the ability to take responsibility, others believe that children should not be rushed into their own lives, but carried step by step.
