According to dosomething.org, “every 51 minutes, someone is killed in a drunk driving related accident. Thousands of people have lost mothers, fathers, children, close family friends, etc. to the act of drinking and driving. Drinking and driving in the U.S has been an ongoing issue because adults and teenagers believe that even after consuming alcohol, they still have the ability to safely operate a car and in most situations, this results in gruesome accidents and in some cases, death. Although there are laws with legal limitations on the age you are allowed to drink and blood alcohol levels in which you are allowed to drive under, the issue still remains. The drinking and driving ad (Ernst, n.d) analyzed in this essay has the goal of showing viewers the brutal effects of drinking and driving. On the fist, there is a green truck that has appeared to have been drawn on. On the face, there is a red car drawn on the cheek.
