Drinking and driving is a very serious matter. Many people can be injured in accidents that involve alcohol. Many people do not understand the consequences, of drinking while under the influence, and how serious they can be. The Bucharest Traffic Police made this ad to help raise awareness for driving while under the influence and hope to inspire people to be responsible drivers.
In the advertisement, by the Bucharest Traffic Police, they are trying to persuade people to stop drinking and driving. The main colors are black and lots of red, which help set the mood of the advertisement. The rain also helps set the mood of the ad, which is dark, gloomy, and sadness. They incorporate these elements into the ad because they want the readers to have a better understanding of the ad. They use the colors red and black because red is usually for emergencies and dark color are usually for sadness and seriousness. Because of the upside down car and the ambulance it gives the sense of chaos and danger. Even though the advertisement is mainly dark, the center of the ad where the person on the stretcher and the emergency medical technicians are, seems to have a spotlight. This is because they want it to be the main part of the ad that the readers focus on. They want the audience to understand that this could happen if they chose to drink and drive. They want to inspire their audience to become more careful drivers. They also want to evoke sadness in the readers; they want them to realize that drinking and driving is very dangerous. The text also plays a role in engaging the audience. In the bottom right hand corner, it says, “DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!” The use of bold letter and capitalizing them draws the audience to the words and they instantly know what the message of the advertisement is. In the top left hand corner of the ad, it says that “There are better ways to meet new people.” This text is bolded, but not in all capital letters. Even without the text being in all caps, it still gets the message across
