The term ¨Illegal Immigration¨ will be recognized by most americans today, this topic has been made familiar more and more lately and was one of the main issues in the most recent presidential election. Illegal Immigration became a real problem in the late 90´s but became a hot topic this past election. Many people think that adding a wall and maybe putting a few more agents at a border won't help anything and only make things a lot worse. Leaving the border like it is now makes it easier for illegal immigrants to get across the border which is why adding security at the border makes more sense. According to the Greenhaven Press, it showed that 40% of sentenced federal offenders in 2007 were Hispanic, and of that 40%, 29% was made up of Non-US Citizens.This means that there were more undocumented immigrants that were federal offender than there were white or black federal offenders. In the same study it shows households that are headed by illegal aliens create a net fiscal deficit of more than 10 billion dollars. Most of America is concerned by illegal immigration too and many are worried that it will ¨lead to an increase in crime¨ across the country. Just under 75% of the country believes that an if nothing is done there will be an increase in crime in the United States. These statistics show the consequences that happen when many illegal immigrants can walk in the country scot-free without being stopped at the border. The United States should not support the current state of the border which is a main cause of the illegal immigration, they should build a wall and put more men down there so that the US can secure their borders and not worry so much about this
