Laws in the United States have placed restrictions on cell phone use by drivers. Some states have jurisdictional discretion over the use of cell phone and other hand held devices. The enforcement of regulations varies from state to state. The cost of distracting driving can cause injuries or maybe even death due to the use of a cell phone. With cell phones getting so popular in the last ten years it has become a part of everyday life and a good number of people depending on them for their everyday use of them. Cell phone use while driving is hazardous; it quadruples the risk of collision and multiples the risk of a fatality nine-fold. The experts have stated in some states that you could spend up to 1 year and jail and face really hefty fines. In some states the Law Enforcement is very strict there regarding the fines for this offense. Other states texting while driving the offenses are just as bad .Texting while driving is not worth the time, aggravation, or the stiff fines you might have to pay if you get caught. If a driver gets caught driving while texting that result in an accident you might face more serious charges maybe vehicular manslaughter and spend years in prison.
