The opportunities to explore my intellectual and academic interests at University of Pennsylvania include a wide variety of activities. A vast majority of my interests center on art, veterinary medicine, culture, sports and exploration. The University of Pennsylvania contains a large amount of artistic and cultural institutions, not to mention the fact that it is in one of the most historic cities in America, Philadelphia. Philadelphia is essentially the birthplace of the United States. Philadelphia is where the Liberty Bell resides and the Constitution was signed there as was the Declaration of Independence. The city is filled to the brim with history. Venturing into the city would be a great way to explore that history and perhaps experience it. The University Library, founded by Benjamin Franklin, has been in continuous operation since 1750, making it a centerpiece for learning about history and culture, not only of the area but of the people living within it.
Penn furthermore has the Arthur Ross Gallery and the Institute of Contemporary Art, a great setting to go and explore fine artwork and the artists behind them. For most of my life I have had and used a talent for art to create, express, and cope. At Penn I could take an art class of interest to explore my creative side. At Penn, intercollegiate and recreational opportunities are offered to Penn students. These opportunities enrich the experience of students. There are clubs and wellness and fitness programs as well. I find my health, fitness, and ability to participate in activities I enjoy a key aspect that I desire in college and Penn provides that. I have been playing soccer for fourteen years and it never ceases to lift my spirits and fuel my happiness. From soccer to swimming, it’s all at Penn for me to experience and improve my health and athletic skills
