This philosophy paper is on Christianity. This paper covers the importance of reading the Bible and the guidance it gives to Christians. It also gives a better understanding of the trinity, the penalty of sin and the gift of salvation, the value and the importance of marriage, and lastly, the responsibility of the church.
The Holy Bible is made of sixty-six books. It was written by more than forty authors over sixteen hundred years. The Bible is split into two sections: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament has thirty-nine books and was written in Hebrew. The New Testament has twenty-seven books and was written in Koine Greek. In John 14:26 (NKJV) He teaches believers all things. This means that the Holy Spirit helps Christians understand God or the things of God. The Holy Spirit also strengthens and encourages those in the church. “Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers” (Acts 9:31 NIV). He convicts the world of guilt or sin. He also intercedes, which means He prays for Christians. Romans 8:26 says, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans” (NIV).
A Christian has the Holy Spirit living inside him. If that person is obeying God, the Holy Spirit will lead him in making right decisions. The Holy Spirit will also help him find the right spouse.
