Reyes leaves his listeners focused on how the absence of love and uniqueness in the education system is deteriorating passion, tradition, self-confidence, and personality from the mindset of the future students who aren't privileged with a backbone support
As a kindergarten teacher at Otter Lake Elementary (WBLAS) and first grade teacher at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary (Moorhead Public Schools), I have learned the importance of establishing a sense of community and belonging in the classroom. By providing a stimulating learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages each child to reach their fullest potential, I aim to meet the specific needs of each student. I firmly believe that every child is entitled to an education environment that enables them to learn and grow both academically and personally. By motivating my students to have confidence in their strengths and abilities, I hope to inspire them to become dedicated, lifelong learners. With only seven hours each day to make a difference in students’ lives, I strive to effectively utilize our time together to ensure they receive a valuable
The role of an educator is not only to teach the many children that come through our classrooms, it is essential to form relationships with students that makes them feel like they matter and that goes above and beyond a teacher's job. It is essential for children to feel valuable, appreciated and motivated in the early stages of their education, the reason why I am pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching for an Elementary level academic setting. Receiving a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education Sciences at the University of California Irvine and the leadership roles I have undertaken in my employment has prepared me to begin and undertake a Masters of Arts in Teaching
This desire manifests itself in many ways, yet at its core is building relationships with students and teachers and then extending these relationships to families and the community. With students, I seek to be visible, greeting the students at the door and working to learn their names. When discipline is necessary, I believe that restorative correction is the best avenue to change behaviors while maintaining relationships. As teachers spend the most time with students during a typical school day, they are essential team members in improving educational outcomes and promoting an inclusive culture. I detail my strategies for working alongside teachers in the subsequent question; however, I strive to support them by creating a culture of trust, safety, training, and collaboration through professional learning communities.
In reading “My Chicken Soup Story” by Sammie Burman, I see a teacher that cared so much, that she lost focus of her students and their needs. As a first year teacher, I am so caught up with how I can share my passion to the class, that I need to take a step back and remember the reason why I became an educator.
The overall goal is for all students to be taken care of while in the classroom and to gain the knowledge that they need in order to be successful in life. My goal is to become a teacher and I will continue to work for the goal that my ancestors created many years ago. Every student deserves to be able to walk out of the classroom having learned how to become a responsible citizen that can change the world. In early Arkansas education, teachers taught in small one-room schoolhouses, instructed many age groups of kids, worked in unideal conditions, and taught all of the basics in the “Three R’s”. All of these challenges were to make sure that their students had an education.
Physical Education is more than just sports it is the foundation where students learn how to be active for life and how to maintain a healthy life. Physical Education should be a balance between physical activity and physical education, which means they will not only learn how to be physically active but they will also learn why it is critical to live a healthy life. Students will learn how eating healthy can affect their lifestyle. Through Physical Education students will learn to build self confidence, which in return will motivate them to develop leadership and teambuilding skills by working with others. This should be a class that everyone can love since it involves so many different elements there should be one that everyone can be passionate about.
As an educator, it is important for me to be a positive role model in the lives of children in my presence. As a good educator, I would establish a healthy relationship with my students, by keeping the lines of communication open so they feel comfortable enough to talk to me about anything. As a good educator, I know it is also important for me to build strong relationships with the families of children in my care because I am a parent myself. I believe that the setting/ environment has a great influence on the growth and development of the children.
Trust, safety, and consistency are the three main components that make a classroom run at it's peak efficiency. A child who feels like the classroom does not contain all three of these components will not be able to learn at their highest level. The first and most important component of the classroom is safety. Safety is a primal need of life.
I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. I want to be a Kindergarten teacher and have since I was a small girl in Elementary School. Early Childhood Education encompasses kindergarten through second grade. After reading an article for another class about student debt and students coming out of college and not making enough money, I had become a bit discouraged about my decision to be a teacher. I did find through doing some research, a few things that I did not know.
I want to pursue computer science as my major because I want to expand my knowledge about coding and programming so I can initiate a nonprofit. My nonprofit will consist of teaching minority students with limited or no access to computers; how to use them to be productive and have fun. They will learn how to code, program, build firewalls, and computer literacy. Within my nonprofit I want the kids to create video games, websites, apps, etc. I believe that with my major I can help close a digital divide between technology and people with limited or no access to technology.
I believe I can foster a love for learning by creating engaging and challenging lessons, encouraging students to ask questions and think critically, and creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel empowered to take risks and make
Mathematics is elegant and fascinating, but is too often daunting for students, who may have been put off from math at an early age. I believe if students enjoy mathematics, and have the ambition and ability to study mathematics, then they can accomplish more than they can learn in a single class. Therefore, my priority as a teacher is to create a learning environment that fosters to these attributes. First, in order to foster to both ambition and ability, I employ active learning.
As educators, we not only guide students academically, but we foster a commitment to provide students success through student achievement, well being and community relations, where all students achieve their full potential socially, emotionally, and academically. During my career as a Guidance Counselor and Teacher-Leader, I have had the privilege of honouring and celebrating the rich cultures that we at The
An inevitable part of being a high school senior is the question “ What do you want to be when you grow up?” a question hasn’t intimidated me since i was 6 years old. With my fellow teenagers, i spend these conversations praying they don’t ask me what I plan to do post-graduation, because i plan on becoming a High school History teacher. Unsurprisingly, nothing is more abhorrent to high school seniors than the idea of going through college just to come right back to high school as a teacher. I’ve learned to expect the brief pause followed by a look of genuine confusion and concern, then a thorough interrogation.
