I want to be a teacher because I like helping people achieve. I do well in math. I always finished my work before most others then I would help everyone who struggled. I found joy in helping others with their work. I want to make a difference to students. I frequently had math teachers that didn’t teach very well and that I thought were awful. I want to be a teacher that is good and that students like. I really like helping people so I would enjoy helping kids with math. I would like to help them learn math. I have learned that children will not always listen to you. I have learned how children behave differently based on their age. I have learned that the children won’t always cooperate with you the way you might want. The only experience that I have really had with children in the classroom would be supervising children when in a Sunday school class. I learned that children can get bored easily and that you need to make your lesson fun for them, it can’t be boring or they won’t learn anything because they won’t pay attention. I learned that younger children have a lot of energy, get distracted easily, are very sociable. What I think will be most challenging about teaching would be dealing with misbehavior and keeping children engaged. I think dealing with misbehavior would be most challenging because it is hard to know what to do if I kick them out of class, they miss out on learning and if I do nothing they walk all over me. I need to be able to find the in between area where they will learn but will not hate me or walk all over me. Keeping children engaged will also be challenging because math can be boring. It will be challenging to make lessons fun. It would be hard because children have a hard time being engaged, get distracted easily, and are pretty
