• Affirmative Action o Definition: Affirmative action is a set of procedures that are designed to eliminate discrimination in the workplace, to fix the discrimination in the past, and to prevent discrimination in the future. o Pro: It breaks stereotypes that regard color. For many years without this policy blacks were not given the same chance as whites for jobs because they were seen as less capable for the job. Because of this policy it was shown that blacks were just as capable. o Con: This policy can reinforce racism and stereotypes.
