Animals and other lifeforms are constantly used to test products we as consumers use daily. However, the ethics and morality of this process is questioned by medical professionals and renowned scientists. Although essential to research labs, animal activists continue to fight for the removal of the so-called cruel testing. When in reality, mammals and other organisms should remain as our main subject because these creatures have provided us with extravagant breakthroughs in 21st century consumables and prescriptions. Living animals are used in testing to help put things like hygiene products and other consumables on the shelves of our favorite stores (The Surprising Pros). Mice and other common test subjects allow scientists and manufacturers to see the problems that shampoos, makeups, and other frequently used items have on our skin (The Surprising Pros). Vaccines and treatments against once crippling diseases, including polio, mumps, and types of cancer-causing agents, have only been improved by experimenting on living organisms (The Surprising Pros). Research from the American Cancer Association shows that the fight against cancer has seen 24 advancements in treatments in the last 3 decades (Animal-Test Research). This form of testing can also improve the welfare of our beloved household pets (The Surprising Pros).
