The ways people lead are significant because many types of leading are expressed by different beliefs and ideas. These views are based on how Ralph’s style of leading includes logic and reason, and Jack’s way of leading uses fear and intimidation. William Golding demonstrates this concept in the novel, Lord of the Flies with the characters Ralph and Jack. Both Ralph and Jack are leaders.

Leadership is a major aspect in Lord of the Flies. Many of the boys try to be leaders, some better than others. If I was on the island and had to choose someone to follow I would follow Jack. Jack doesn’t seem like he would be a good leader but he has good qualities of a good leader and he knows how to survive in the wilderness. When Jack is first introduced he shows discipline by having the choir be at an attention position and the choir respect him as a leader.
All leaders are, in a way, misunderstood by the actions they are enforcing and taken for granted by the people whom they strive to protect. Employees must be part of the change hence, they must to be told about the requirement of the change and be given a reward to motivate to embrace the change. If change be accepted by all recipients it can be implemented quickly and effectively. The leaders’ attitudes and behaviors have both positive and negative alterations on the change success. Therefore, leaders of organizations need to try and develop a more framing and shaping behavior, adding skills on themselves to change and motivate the subordinates towards the embracing the change.
Leaders come in many different shapes and forms. Some leaders only care about the business and task at hand, some leaders care too much for their employees, and other leaders have a great mix of both worlds; those are the types of leaders to have in every company. Leaders need to be fully invested not only in the business to succeed, but they need to make sure their employees are taken care of just as well as the company.
