Reflection On My Writing

Comp/Writing has never been a subject that I enjoy and honestly that still has not changed. However, throughout this course I have seen my writing grow more than it has in the last five years. When this essay was first introduced to the class my first thought was “not this again” because I have never thought that any one course has affected my writing. In the past when I have been asked to reflect on my writing I have had to lie about how much I have grown but, in this essay, I know that I do not have to do that. It was not until I took the time to go back and read over the first few projects that were assigned that I realized my writing has changed tremendously. Having the power to pick what topic I wanted to research for my research essay along with the critical analysis project allowed me to be passionate about my topic. The passion made me want to learn about the topic, represent it well, and gave me a pride in what I was writing about. Willingly putting in this effort for an assignment changes it from something that is done mindlessly where none of the learned information’s is retained into something where the knowledge is absorbed and used in the future.
