Apart from the financial support, the principal career development scholarship interests me particularly because of the career development training offered, in which I am keen to take up public engagement and teaching. I aspire to pursue a Ph.D. to build a career in academia, teaching and to be able to engage with wider audiences through public engagements and events that allow me an opportunity to share learning, experiences, and knowledge. This fellowship allowed me to pursue conversations with different education organizations and scale my teaching model to 100+ schools in India. In 2012, I was invited as a speaker at TEDxNITDurgapur to speak about my TFI experience. This experience was unique as it was my first recorded talk and an opportunity to speak in front of a wide audience. In 2015, based on my past experiences, I authored an essay on primary education in India and offered some policy recommendations for a book for the Brookings Institution. This book was an important white paper for the education ministry which took it up for further consideration. During my Masters, I disseminated my knowledge of feminist theories and frameworks through different channels of communication. I authored several articles for media portals and curated Genderlog India, a feminist Twitter handle with 19k+ followers wherein I led discussions on gender and feminism. The discussions enriched my understanding of gender from non-academic perspectives, which in turn helped me in my MA.
