Should Art Classes Be Required To Pass High School?

The option to take art classes have been available in schools and/or mandatory to pass for decades. Now, whether they should be necessary or not to pass high school is being heavily debated. Should a class a year be required to pass high school, or should they be an option? Art classes should be required for each of the 4 years of high school because it improves grades, they increase social and creative skills, and they prepare kids to be problem-solving adults.
Many researchers agree that taking art classes in high school provides many benefits. Such as the following quote says, “Researchers suggest high-quality arts education helps improve test scores and reduce tardiness and truancy,” (Arts Education, CQR) taking an art class is beneficial. Tardiness and truancy are becoming more and more common, along with lower test scores. If more kids were required to take art classes, we could see the numbers of how often these events happen lower. These are not the only benefits art classes may provide. “Taking any kind of art class increases math, reading, and verbal skills, plus critical thinking. Art, in general, has enlightened us about many problems.
