It is only fair that the players get paid, given how much money college campuses generate annually.Student athletes will put in more effort while also having something to look towards if they receive a portion of what they donate to college sports organizations. One would work harder at a job that's getting paid for than a job that you get paid nothing for. Also, if the students are working all day they are not going to have time for a job and have to be focused on their sport and if they were being paid all those problems would fade away. The fact that college athletes take enormous risks and put their bodies on the line is my final justification for paying them. Why shouldn't the students get a portion of the money because they already bring in money for the school? Student athletes will want to work more and perform better if you pay them a portion of what they contribute to their college. For example, you would work harder at a job you're being payed at rather than a job you get nothing in return. I can defend my reason because a study from the NCAA states,” College sports are already competitive but when money is on the line there is more of an incentive for student athletes to work harder. Money is already generated by the student athletes for the school so why shouldn’t they receive a portion of it?” This shows how cruel and greedy colleges are to the people making the money for them. Another reality is that college athletics generate billions of dollars every year, and everyone wants a piece of the action. College athletes shouldn't be paid since doing so would damage their sports' amateurism and spoil upcoming athletes. I understand where those who support paying college athletes are coming from, but everyone wants money; it's just the way the world is. Many people believe that everyone in the industry is getting paid except for the athletes who are making all of the money in college sports, despite the fact that these organizations now generate billions of dollars in revenue. That is not accurate at all, as the majority of college athletes receive a full scholarship to the institution they attend, meaning they attend for free.
