There is always an argument or an opposing side to everything. One of the biggest ones out there is whether college athletes should be paid or not. Technically they are already being paid with scholarships toward their tuition. But many people would disagree that they are still being cheated and deserve payment. So should college athletes be paid?
They are paid in scholarships toward their education. If they were paid cash the schools would lose money because they wouldn't have hardly any athletic funding left to have the sport. Also there would be very little left over to go toward the schooling.

They would sign the papers saying they were playing college and they would already assume that they have made it and eventually not try and flunk out of college. And they would have no education to fall back on for when they run outta their college money. They already get their classes and food payed for to an extinct they get their classes payed for so most of the money that they get payed would just be straight pocketed. To some this would go to their head and they would not have a fall back plan and would think their college money was enough. This wouldn't be a problem if they were given as much pay as a player of the national football league, but theoretically this wouldn't be possible because they still need money for: equipment, the college, and funding for the game.
