D1 athletes should get paid that seems to be the arguing going around campus between athlete. With a little knowledge of being one, there is a struggle with being an athlete. Just from a little experience of playing a college sport there is very little space for anything else until you get used to the whole school, class, workout, service projects, training days, and media days etc .etc. All the listed things are also mandatory so as you can see there is no room at all to have a job, honestly there really is no free time at all to make a little money just to have in your pocket when you need it. So in this paper i will be talking about D1 athletes getting paid, both some negative and positive pointers. After reading this paper you will have a sense of Pros and Cons of D1 athletes being paid and the side you would pick if you were asked should they get paid or not. To begin this paper it is to believe that this argument of athletes getting paid started when they let out a college video game and it had the athlete's name on the game. WIth their names being on the video game and that video game is getting a lot of money, the people they use should get a cut too.

Most athletes are not mature enough to even have a pay because then it's basically like they are being paid to play. WIth the athletes that are immature about the money they would get paid would take away from the education part of school. with school relying on men basketball and football with some departments not making profit at all would cause some colleges to lower division not being able to offer any type of scholarship because with the school that pay students would get more enrollment mainly because athletes want to get paid and then athletes would not be playing for the right
