Stephen Hawking once said, “I don’t think the human race will survive the next thousand years, unless we spread into space”. Spending money on space program can lead to many achievements such as knowledge, discovery and exploration. Therefore, the government should spend more money on the space program.
The space program has very sophisticated machinery that is keeping us safe from threats coming from space. The biggest threat from space are asteroids. The space programs can detect rogue asteroids that could wipe life on Earth in a flash.
Satellites in space watches Earth every time it monitors any major changes on Earth. Global climate change is highly dangerous, if our ice caps melt our sea level would rise and could be a threat to humans. There are satellites in low-earth orbit that monitors any sun

Clean water is highly needed for us to keep us hydrated. NASA brought us the water filter, before it was invented we had to boil water or drink from springs.
Electricity is used to power up our technology and it is expensive to produce but NASA brought us the solar panels. The solar panels harvest the sun’s energy to generate unlimited electricity. Oil spills is one of the biggest problems we face on Earth. It affects us humans and animals. Space agencies invented a device that separates oil from water solving the oil spill problems. The space programs made our life luxurious through their beneficial inventions.
We likely can not stay on Earth forever, so we need to explore other options. Human population is growing rapidly and our resources is predicted not to be enough. Scientist estimates that by 2050 Earth’s population would reach 10 billion. There are too many disasters that could happen to life living in a single planet. Funding for space programs are highly recommended if we want the human race to survive and prosper into the
