I am writing this letter to emphasize my interest in the position of Staff Coordinator with the office of New Student and Family Programs. The position of Staff Coordinator interest me for a variety of different reasons. The first is the opportunity to gain experience in a leadership position. I would love the opportunity to gain experience and develop my skills in leadership. The second reason would be the opportunity to learn more about a career field that interest me. I came to recently question my previous career goals and began looking into possible career fields. I expect to find a few challenges in this position along the way. The first would be my organizational skills. I am organized in my own specific and unique way, but becoming more organized so that everyone would be able to understand the task and goals that we have as a group. The second challenge I would face would be altering how I am perceived by those around me. Sometimes I feel that I come across lackadaisical and unintelligent, but in this position I would overcome this challenge by finding a voice and a new way to articulate myself that would allow me to be viewed in a positive light. While overcoming these challenges I would hope to help make various improvements to next year’s program. The first would be the organization of the OLS staff. I am not saying that this year they were not organized, I just feel that there were certain problems that could of been avoided with proper planning and organization.
