I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
I would like to attend Archbishop Mitty High School for many reasons. Some of those reasons are the community, the academics, and the athletics. After shadow days, the open house, and hearing from students one of the primary reasons to attend Archbishop Mitty High School is the community. The students and teachers really know and care about each other. There is so much love to go around for everyone.
I personally believe that UNC Wilmington will allow me to grow academically as a student as well as an adult. Being from a small town in Maine I have always been the type of person to try new things and live to the fullest. When I decided to go to college, my mind was set on staying close to home my first year and getting the feel of what it is like. I strongly feel I am a very independent person and enjoy the challenges of doing things on my own. I have changed my mind many times on a career path I wish to pursue I don’t find it easy for someone my age to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life.
I want to go to Hoosier Girls State so I can better my community when I return. I can use the new leadership skills that I acquire at Girls State to help run my school’s Student Council, National Honor Society, and Sunshine Society. Leadership skills are very important for me because I am currently the Vice President of Sunshine Society, and I will be campaigning for President next year. I hope to continue to be an efficient leader for our Sunshine members, and lead by example for the underclassmen.
Being a part of these groups will likely be beneficial to my interpersonal skills and will challenge me to do something that will benefit other students. Likewise, I would also like to become involved in WCU's student government association as I think this would be a great opportunity to continue to hone the skills that I have been developing during my High School student government experience, while also learning to work with a larger and more diverse group of people than I have worked with
However, I had always told myself that I would someday re enroll, earn a degree, and graduate so that I could be a prime example for my four children as to what never giving up looks like. I believe this college would enable me to earn a degree without taking on a heavy financial burden. In addition, I appreciate the flexible structure of programs which would fit into my current lifestyle as a busy mom. And, I definitely love the maturer yet diverse environment the school has to offer.
Describe how you plan to pursue your academic interests at USC. Please feel free to address your first- and second-choice major selections. (250 word limit) I believe that USC is the best place to give me the tools to pursue my dream of becoming a medical examiner. Because I am interested in this occupation, my first-choice major is Human Biology which will allow me to explore many of the subjects associated with being this kind of doctor.
My childhood was not most would consider to be easy. Both my mother and father had addiction issues that forced my younger brother and I to care for ourselves. By the time I reached the fifth grade, I had attended five different elementary schools. On the days that I did actually go to school, I was not on time. A few years later, I moved in with my grandparents, and my entire life improved.
Why do I want to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated? Since I was a little girl I had grown up on the expectation that once I got to college I would pursue joining the organization Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. Because this was instilled in me since I could really talk I never really question the idea. But once I got to college I began to truly question why I wanted to be a member.
Looking back on my high school journey, one thing remains steadfast: my determination to travel and study abroad. With this in mind, I have chosen to respond to the second prompt—detailing what opportunity I am most excited about—regarding the Renée Crown University Honors College at Syracuse University. While reading through the Honors College website, multiple programs and opportunities piqued my interest. However, the emphasis placed on studying abroad while at Syracuse intrigued me the most. As a result of growing up in a small town, nothing excites me more than branching out and discovering new places.
It has been such an honor and privilege serving as your Miss Savannah State University. Beginning my reign, I knew it was not going to be easy however, I had a duty to represent my university to the best of my ability. The question that I receive the most is, what is it like being Miss Savannah State University and what does it means to me. Being Miss Savannah State University is the epitome of what it means to be a true leader. It screams hard work, dedication, respectability for myself and my university, grace, and poise.
As a person who strives to achieve for the best, being a part of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) would clearly elevate my position beyond what I have achieved. The society consists of outstanding students who have the characteristics from the 5 everyday pillars of NJHS- scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. It is not the average organization where anyone can join, but I believe that I, Dexin Kong, fit into these five categories from what I keep as morals and my actions throughout middle school. Scholarship is something that I hold in high regard- and with this, I like to think that all my hard work will pay off in the future to allow me to reach great achievements through high school, college, and a career.
I want to attend the Naval Academy because I want to distinguish myself and to gain a sense of purpose. My father attended the Naval Academy and ,as a result, he always encouraged me to join in the service. This would be a goal that I wanted to achieve myself, so that I could improve myself and learn new skills. I also wanted to earn my degree in Mechanical Engineering in order to pursue my aspirations.
As a computer science student, I have always been fascinated by the idea of creating something from nothing, and the limitless potential that technology has to offer. I started my academic journey at Riverside City College, where I was able to gain a solid foundation in computer science and develop my programming skills. However, I have always felt that I was not reaching my full potential and that I needed to continue my education at a university where I could further develop my skills and knowledge. This is why I have decided to transfer to the University of Southern California. My primary reason for transferring to USC is to be part of a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about technology and its potential to change the world.
I’m currently taking a welding class in High School and I have already achieved a couple of certs. This year i’m entering the TSA competition hoping to win district and maybe even be a state champion. The reasons why I would like to attend Tulsa Welding School is to further my education on welding and it’s also a small sized school located close to home. Tulsa Welding School is only specific for welding and pipefitting and doesn’t have other courses, so you can focus only on what you are really there for.
