Every Tuesday night starting at 6:00 P.M. this graduate had the privilege to enjoy a classroom full of discussions, debates, ideas, and viewing of educational videos. The class CS 570- Emerging Technologies and Informational Systems was a class about how emerging technology evolves, the effect technology has on the world, how to improve forecast for the future, and how new technology is being integrated. The style of teaching for this class was unique when compared to other classes. This class is not the traditional teacher lecture to the students for the whole period type of class. The book made many points about how the world needs more inventors and people that have the drive to make existing technology better. This was a great book provided by the professor that covered basically what majority of the discussions that took place were about. Most of the class discussions were about past, present, future technology and how they have evolved and how it will evolve in the future. This book discussed past, present, and future technology and how the “Makers” will be the deciding factor how far and fast technology can be improved. The book also discussed that the best time to become a “Maker” is now with the different types of social media the internet has. The very first class meeting the professor opened they eyes of the students from the small concept of technology being computers, phones, and gadgets. The professor accomplished this task with one simple question and answer, “What is technology” the answer, “a tool”. The simple question led to many different types of discussions that lead to covering the entire list of objectives. Technology is a tool that is neutral the deciding factor if it is ethical or not is how technology is being used.
