Mr. Hester’s classroom management plan, policies, and procedures are located on the www.7steps.org website. Mr. Hester provides his students with the procedures for every possible activity, which can occur in a high school classroom. Mr. Hester has his students to apply for classroom jobs through an application process, just as they would apply for a job in the real world. Classroom jobs is a task normally found in elementary grades, however Mr. Hester has found a real world application for the use of classroom jobs inside his high school classroom. When students have a choice in the classroom it allows them to ownership over their learning experience while in the classroom. Additionally, students having jobs within the classroom allows them to bring their passion and personalities into the classroom. Mr. Hester stands at the door everyday not only greet his students but also to check homework. This is every efficient in building trust with every students allowing Mr. Hester to say hello to every student by name and also to check homework quickly and allowing time to discuss any issues with the student before class. …show more content…

Hester’s tone and attitude is positive with every student in every situation, whether he is praising his students when they have met expectations, or to let the student know they have not met expectations. He consistently tells his students he cares for them and hearts them and he wants them to succeed. Mr. Hester is constantly on his feet walking around his classroom, managing and monitoring his students’ progress, this management tool eliminates most behaviors before they even start. Additionally, Mr. Hester consistently reminds his students this is a silent activity and praises them for remaining silent. Mr. Hester is able to provide students with meaningful content during his lessons when he does not have to stop and redirect
