For Task 1 in the assignment TSL 3093 Managing the Primary ESL Classroom, I had to work in group and look up for the information and present in slide presentation one of the classroom management theories. The task helped me to further understand the subject and sustained my knowledge in TSL3093, especially of the theories of Congruent Communication by Haim Ginott. The content of the slide presentation worked as a pre-task to our overall assignment. It helped me to determine what to write in my academic essay and how to relate it to the theories that I had learnt based on the research and from my friends’ presentation. For example, Ardila (2013) stated that the teacher’s approach and reinforcement motivate the learners. It taught us that we need to plan our lesson in details and remember to give the students reinforcements to encourage learning. This finding supports the theory of Building the Foundation by skinner, Glasser and Gordon. …show more content…

The video shows how good the teacher is at managing the classroom by setting some rules and establishing good teacher-student rapport. For my classroom management plan, there are a lot of criteria to be considered. For instance, the government nowadays proposed that the learning that is taking place in the classroom should be learner-centred. Hence, my plan should take this guideline into account. In conclusion, all the tasks given to us are relevant to help us understand TSL 3093 Managing the Primary ESL Classroom
