A life without fast foods would seem as though it’s a horror show, right? I’m sure most people will agree with me, but do you ACTUALLY realise what fast food is and the processes and chemicals associated with them?
In 1921, the world was introduced to the first fast food chain, White Castle, found in Kansas in the United States of America. Billy Ingram and Walter Anderson were the masterminds behind this invention that would soon turn the world into a frenzy with limited knowledge about what fast food really was and the dangers and health risks associated with them.

Fast food is typically known as the process whereby food is pre-cooked or pre-heated, with very little nutritional value and served to a customer. Fast food is high in trans-fat which is when hydrogen is added to liquid vegetable oils. Your cholesterol levels increase and your arteries start to harden. Sugar is another ingredient in these foods that increase our chance of obesity and diabetes. The biggest culprit though, is calories. TBHQ is a very harmful preservative found in vegetable oil and also helps to extend the shelf life of products. Shockingly, this chemical is found in pet food, skincare products and even in varnish.
