As a building principal, I have interviewed, hired, and mentored numerous teachers at Cedar Crest High School. Through this process, I have seen what it takes to develop and become an outstanding educator for students. First and foremost, the individual must be passionate for student learning and willing to go the extra miles. In addition to passion, I believe an outstanding educator is a hard-worker, someone who has lived life in the trenches and knows the value of a good job. Teaching is not a nine to five job, it is a full-time commitment. Students need teachers who are interested in their life outside of the classroom as well as their well-being in the classroom.
