When being a teacher you’re going to run into problems and situations that might be difficult. Some traits of a fantastic teacher is patient, friendly, engaged, and funny. Being patient is a key part in teaching. No student is the same, some might take a little bit longer to grasp something compared to the other students who are speedy quick to grasp the lesson. Also when having a teaching job you’re going to run into a lot of unplanned chaos, so you will need to be patient and calm so you can avoid any mental illnesses. Also be friendly is huge in the teaching business. You don’t want to be the teacher that everyone despises. I’ve had teacher that were my best friends just in adult form. I always loved going up to her after lunch and telling her about my day. It takes a lot to become great friends with a student but it’s definitely possible. When they keep up with their students lives it’s awesome. I had a teacher once that would make us write “How’s Life” papers. The paper only had to be about half a page, and I would always write too much. Also it was a time where the teacher could get to know their students. I never thought that the teacher that had us write those silly papers would actually read them until he came up to me one day and started talking about a topic I had written about in my lastest “How’s Life” papers. In addition to keeping up with the students, I believe it’s important to be engaged in what they want to do in the future. Yes, school is important and it has a lot of up and down kind of lessons. But if teachers engaged into making some lessons for a certain type of student group and it went with what they wanted to do in life and it helped them become more confident in their talent in their dream, that would be a school I would want to
