In classifying whether or not a person is a serial killer certain criteria should be met. A serial killer is somebody who commits three or more murders in a short period of time such as a month but has a cooling off period in between murders. The killings or murders must be done at different times, meaning they are separate events. Also serial killers are driven by some type of thrill or pleasure. Often times these people do not feel any remorse for their victims, and enjoy seeing their victims in pain and fearing for their life. Serial killers are also very good at hiding their true identity when it comes to regular day life. Serial killers are also good at looking innocent and even charming to their victims, this was the case for Ted Bundy. Bundy presented himself as a charmer for the ladies.
Theodore “Ted” Bundy was born in Burlington Vermont on November 24, 1946. Bundy was unwanted by his mother as she was not married and it was against her very religious parents beliefs. His mother gave him to her parents to raise and he grew up believing they his grandparents were his actual parents and his mother was his sister. It is hard to say since Bundy grew up in a good christian home, and had very loving and supportive parents. In an interview before Bundy was executed he said “That’s one way to describe it - a compulsion, a building up of this destructive energy. Another fact I haven’t mentioned is the use of alcohol. In conjunction with my exposure to pornography, alcohol reduced my inhibitions and pornography eroded them further.” (You). Bundy himself confessed that alcohol played a role in his crimes as well as pornagraphy. He does not solely blame these two things but they definitely played apart.
