Unsatisfied with the country’s first African-American president, in fear that their lives are becoming inferior to the growing population of minorities and immigrants and longing for the American dream; thousands of men and women line up to see Donald Trump. And in an extraordinary presidential campaign, Trump thrives off of and taps into these very fears and anxieties that have been brought to light. Despite the adversity that Trump’s campaign attracts, his supporters and voters that have pledged their allegiance to the Republic derive from various states of the country. This further stems from anger directed at President Obama who continues to provide amnesty to more than 13 million illegal immigrants living in America. We, as American citizens, want to see illegal immigrants sent back to their countries, increased border security to prevent them from entering the country and to provide for our own citizen’s welfare and employment needs. Trump shares these views with American citizens and has created a vision to restore integrity to America’s immigration system by prioritising the interests of the citizens first – something that many of us haven’t felt for years. We have been labelled “racist” for wanting to enforce immigration laws by creating a border wall, however, many people don’t recognise that this is mode that unauthorised immigrants use to enter the country.
