“You can have all the gun control laws in the country, but if you don't enforce them, people are going to find a way to protect themselves. We need to recognize that bad people are doing bad things with these weapons. It's not the law-abiding citizens, it's not the person who uses it as a hobby”(Michael Steel). Despite what Michael Steele says, gun control laws are necessary in the country. In shootings it is not just bad people who shoot others; it also the common people, who either have mental diseases or in the heat of the moment decided to fire the gun. There are also problems of people changing, making it necessary to keep tabs on people in case it is later found that they are mentally ill or if any other problem occurs that is detrimental against the general public. This type of legislation may have the unintended consequence of reducing the number of individuals who seek treatment, which, in turn, could result in an increase of the occurrence of suicide or violence”(Wolf,Reinach, and Rosen 864-865). These problems can occur if people mishandle the way they solve the problems of gun control and just make the situation worse.
