Would you rather walk around with a gun in your pocket or your family carry around a pocket of regret? Everyone has the liberty of the second amendment but it seems that some people are trying to take that away. There are pro-gun control activists that believe there should be more rules and regulations in place in order to own a gun to cut down on the number of shootings and violent crimes. The Second Amendment, and the regulations already in place, are more than enough to establish who is allowed to own a gun.

However, it has been proven that not all gun owners are insane mass murderers, in fact, most crimes are in self-defense. Robert A Waters’, the author of the book “The Best Defense: True Stories of Intended Victims Who Defended Themselves With a Firearm” says "Gun owners are portrayed as being militia types...A lot of people try to portray gun owners as vigilantes, cowboys and wackos, Mr. Waters said, explaining that the people he interviewed for the book were nothing like that. They were normal, everyday citizens who were going about their everyday lives when they were brutally attacked. And because they had a gun, they were able to survive the attack" (Stories of saved lives). Waters proves here and in his book that owning a gun can save numerous lives in the act of self-defense.
