Gun control By conner clark Did you know that americans have more guns than anyone else on earth and that more than 30,000 americans die each year to firearms. Well that is what these two articles are teaching us that america does not have a lot of gun laws for guns and how people show more animosity towards gun laws after all of the shootings. These two articles are similar but yet are still really different.
With all three of these reasons, it's safe to say that the law for gun control shouldn't exist. The law will end up disputing the Second Amendment and the protection of citizens who are in dangerous situations. This would also give the government much power. No matter what, if a person has high intentions to murder a person with a gun, they’ll do whatever it takes to get one in their position and they will be able to obtain the firearm. Also, when planning to commit a crime, when has the criminal ever in history taken the law into consideration before planning and further committing the crime?
Would you rather walk around with a gun in your pocket or your family carry around a pocket of regret? Everyone has the liberty of the second amendment but it seems that some people are trying to take that away. There are pro-gun control activists that believe there should be more rules and regulations in place in order to own a gun to cut down on the number of shootings and violent crimes. The Second Amendment, and the regulations already in place, are more than enough to establish who is allowed to own a gun. Taking guns away from the civilians won’t fully eliminate mass shootings.
Gun control is an issue that just keeps gaining momentum and everyone wants to say their piece. Ranging from NRA members and red necks who want to keep their fire arms to friends, families, and victims of mass shootings who want to make sure their loved ones are safe. This issue needs to be solve in a way to minimize the amount of ruffled feathers and it needs to happen quickly. With the number of gun violence in crime increasing America should do more to prevent this violence but we don’t need to take overly severe measures, therefore the best option is to compromise.
Imagine a scenario where you went out with some friends late at night and were walking back home when all of a sudden from the shadows comes a mugger with an illegal gun. Normally, you'd be carrying a gun to protect yourself but because of recent laws passed by the government you no longer own a gun. But wait, isn't it illegal for a mugger to have a gun, so how come he has one and you don't? This is the issue gun rights supporters have with gun control supporters. If laws prohibiting guns are passed but criminals don't follow them while you do, you can't protect yourself.
While there are many great claims both for and against gun control, much of the controversy could be resolved if their were more reliable and in depth background checks, those found eligible could possess guns for the purposes of hunting and/or personal protection, and through implementation of regulations to limit the maximum number of guns that an individual would be able to own. People that are pro gun rights, such as the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, and the Second Amendment Foundation have great arguments to support their side in the gun control controversy. A great example of this is the fact that gun control laws will not keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Reasoning behind this statement is simple, criminals are called
The issue of gun rights is an everyday issue that can be argued with support either way. one of the main problems is that we as Americans have been given certain rights through the first ten amendments that are interpreted different on a daily basis. However, the Supreme Court has a history of making rulings after what the Constitution says word for word. And even though they are shadowed out by the popularized shootings and other such events there are actually news articles that aid in the support of the second amendment.
Gun control is one of the most controversial topics in American politics today and has been a hot topic for many years. There are many views on gun control, with people talking about their 2nd amendment right, a number of gun deaths, and things like background checks and more limitations on said guns, I believe that there should be stricter, or more gun control laws put in place. One of the main arguments made by people who are anti-gun control is that the Second Amendment gives them the “right to bear arms.” ( The US Constitution.) While this is true, the Second Amendment isn’t an unlimited right to own guns.
Gun control is good, but the country should focus on the laws that already exist. If we would focus and follow the laws that are in place now we would have less crime happen. Wrecks that cause fatality happen 75 percent more often than accidents involving guns(Owning guns). We can stop all gun crime if we become more strict with the laws and rules of owning a gun. We need to enforce better rules such as: doing more background checks on both buyers and sellers, getting people to go through a legal gun dealer, and removing all gun trafficking.
Gun control is a much needed element of society, but there can always be too much of a good concept. Gun control is a term used lightly, but when applied to reality, it is a very serious situation. It is in human nature to do the exact opposite of what someone tells them to. If the new gun control laws are put into place, more people will disobey these new laws than obey. According to an article, gun violence led to a devastating discovery due to hospital admissions.
On many College campuses today even the mention of the word “gun” can lead to a panic for all those that hear it. America is a very different place today than it was only a mere fifty years ago. In the mid 1900s it was not uncommon for high-schools and even some grade-schools to incorporate firearm safety and education courses into physical activity classes. Many students learned how to safely handle and shoot firearms under the direct supervision of a trained adult. So why is it that today even the mention of “gun” leads so many children, students, and adults into a panic?
Australia is not the only country to have taken measures against gun violence. Ever since World War Two, gun control became very strict in Japan. If a citizen wanted to own a gun for the purpose of hunting, the individual must go through time consuming background checks, provide valid hunting registration forms, take a mental health examination, and pass a standardized test. Every three years, the examinations must be taken again for a renewal of the license. Japan has a very low homicide rate, with close to none being from gunshot.
Laws, taxes, and bans on guns or ammunition are called gun control and the need for more or less of these regulations are a heated topic in politics today. Everyone is asking if more laws about guns will benefit our country, well the answer is no. There should not be more laws about gun control because more legislation will open a window to take away all of our rights, make our personal lives more dangers, and reduce the country’s national security. If politicians can slowly remove the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, without people realizing it, they can take away all of our rights, like freedom of speech, religion and press, in the same fashion. Gun sellers have to record a video of every person buying a gun or ammunition, their storage
Do you ever think about what would happen if the government confiscate many of our gun rights away? Do you ever feel threatened by this? Just imagine sitting in a movie theatre, restaurant, or anywhere else where you may spend your time. You are in that certain location happily, and a man with a gun walks in, what do you do? The government has already put a ban on concealed carry, we will have a hard time defending ourselves against the law breaking citizen choosing to illegally have a gun and attack us.
Is the United States suffering from the acts of gun control? Strong evidence shows that the United States suffers from the misuse of gun control every year. For example the number of school shootings that have taken place in the last year. With a number of guns in the United States, there is always going to be gun violence. Finally, a permit for every type of firearm should be necessary before purchase.
