Most Athletes Do Drugs, But Who Really Cares Athletes using performance enhancing drugs have always been in the media. When a beloved athlete is caught using drugs the media tears them apart. As mentioned, “Cheating and CHEATING” by Posnanski gives its own side to the effects of media.
There are several sentences in my essay on the Martins and Wilson’s paper that would be considered Honor Code Violations. In the Vanderbilt University Honor Code the part of The Honor Applied to Preparation of Papers it says “Failure to indicate any outside source of ideas, expressions, phrases, or sentences constitutes plagiarism” and then the Honor Code gives some samples of violation that can be applied to my case. This article on ethics was really interesting and a dilemma that is prevalent within criminal justice. In the article Dr. Steven Davis recognized that students cheating in high school increased by 20% in the 1940 to 75% today. Davis stated, "If students lack ethics in high school and college, then there should be little surprise that they lack ethics in their careers. (2008). " This observation by Davis holds some value, because individuals that is willing to cheat to get ahead, definitely has no problem crossing ethical lines, because in their mind the wrong is acceptable, just as it was when they cheated.

I can see both sides as to how having one may or may not help. Having an honor system is a good idea as it will help to keep most students honest.
Academic dishonesty has been an issue for many years and has continued to increase since the beginnings of technology. Technology, while showing to be helpful in the classroom, has also caused an increase of academic dishonesty among students. This is more frequent for students of the high school and college level. Cheating by using technology, such as computers and cellphones is proven to be only a temporary solution and will continue to harmfully affect students throughout their academic careers. Some students have turned to cheating as a last resort on a few assignments where other students are cheating simply because their peers are doing it.
The definition of cheating is to act dishonestly or unfairly, to break trust all for the purpose of personal gain. How can anyone feel as though cheating is anything but a selfish act. Cheating in my opinion is wrong. Cheating is wrong.

An honor code is a system in which students agree not to cheat on assignments, and also report any other students they may see cheating, however although students agree they do not always follow through causing problems and allowing cheating to continue. Although honor codes are a noble idea in theory, their lack of effectiveness and practicality raises problems that can not be overlooked by school administrators; therefore, I urge my school not to adopt an honor code system
Utilitarianism Justification of Exam Cheating Utilitarianism is one of the best ethical approaches that can be used to justifying a right action from a wrong action by focusing on the outcome of the path taken. The most important thing is that the action taken to achieve a certain outcome has to be of the greater benefit of the society at large. Whether the outcome is bad, it can be used to morally justify some deeds regardless of how inhumane they can be. On the other side, utilitarianism also does not justify everything because it is difficult at time to predict whether the actions taken will be good or bad at the end. Additionally, values cannot be accounted for.
Is cheating in school right? Everyday at school, I can see more and more people cheating off others, whether it be at lunch, over messaging, or even at the beginning of some classes. First off, cheating can break the code of conduct in many ways, like disrespecting others rights (i.e. teachers and/or other students), or by breaking general school policy. Secondly, cheating is specifically mentioned in the school guidelines and how it is considered “falsification” .
Students are given a certain deadline for work that is to be handed up which will put pressure on and tempt students to find the easiest access to the relevant information needed. Students may feel after submitting their own work that they do not receive the result they deserve and therefore could tempt them to take data and information from other sources in the hope to receive a higher grade in their next assignment. Whenever a student uses sourced material, this could be either published primary or secondary material, but can also be information got from other people, it must be indicated.
