In the year 1188 BCE, during the Trojan War the Greeks chose an elite task force from their best soldiers. These men were tasked with executing what would become one of the most important missions of the Trojan War. Those men where going to hide out in a giant wooden horse that was made as a surrendering gift for the Trojans. Also, two spy’s were positioned in the head of the horse where the eyes would be so the soldiers in the stomach could jump out and conquer the city and not jump out while there is enemies around the horse. Their plan was for the Trojans to bring the gift into the city, so the Greeks could jump from inside the horse during nighttime and take over the city by surprise. The controversy behind whether or not the Trojan Horse is real or just another myth is a debate that is evenly sided. For Example, someone who is arguing that the Trojan Horse is just another myth could point out the 40 warrior men could not fit in a wooden horse of the size that it is or was said to be. In the case of someone that is stating their reasons for arguing that the Trojan Horse is or was real they are able to point out the fact that if you observe the Greek’s art especially what was being created during the same time period as the Trojan War you will be able to deduct that the Trojan Horse was well in the range of the capabilities of the Greek. Another thing that plays a big part in this argument is, the fact that not too long ago the city of Troy was also thought to be a myth until it was discovered. Also, the book, The Iliad, written by Homer describes what went on during the Trojan War with him being alive and most of the things he has wrote have been proven right by historical evidence. With that being said the question of why would Homer write something that is so advanced, so creative, and so far fetched if it wasn’t real to begin
