Education is something everyone needs and should have the right to have. Everyone should have the same education as the person next to them. Education is what prepares students for their profession, meaning it should be taught well but sadly it's not. The two main problems in American that are hurting our education is, the lack of respect we have for teachers and the idea of making average students. Its sad to say the teachers are the problem in this situation, but sadly some are. Teachers now in day are less motivated to teach, especially If students don't listen to them. Teachers don't get paid enough money for what they are doing, and they feel like they shouldn't have to stay after to help a student if their not getting payed more or …show more content…

Teachers should get more benefits for what they do or atleast get treated better or be seen better by other fields as they do in other countries. “In Finland, it is a tremendous honor to be a teacher, and teachers are afforded a status comparable to what doctors, lawyers and other highly regarded professionals enjoy in the U.S.” (Lynch). Maybe if teachers we treated as well as in other places, they would feel more motivated to teach better. This huge problem starts to become an even bigger issue when students aren't getting the maximum education they need. In some cases teachers aren't qualified to teach and that also needs to change because the teachers are the ones responsible for the education of future american workers. If teachers don't feel motivated then they don't teach well and that's a problem because you can't expect a child to learn when the teachers aren't teaching them. If the area you live in isn't that rich your practice isn't going to be all that great. I understand that the government doesn't want to waste their money and time on kids that have no future ahead of them but how do you expect them to improve their scores if they don't have a solid ground to help them improve like other students have. Kids don't choose to live where they live it's not their fault. If a kid wants to grow and be better, he needs to have support from a school that will be willing to help him and support him through that process of getting better. I have a friend that lives in the Parkway district and goes to Parkway West high school. Last year as sophomores we both took Ap world history and then had to take the end of the year Ap test. I remember my friend telling me the 2nd week school started, that her teacher was already giving them timed essays to prepare them for the Ap test. I was shocked that he was making them do that already, like school had just started. In my school we didn't start doing any timed essays until like 2nd semester. That showed me how good of a teacher hers was and how mine wasn't so much. He wasn't horrible but he didn't have the same experience and ability to teach as her teacher did. When the time came for the Ap test in May, my friend was nervous to take the exam because everyone who's taken that class with her teacher usually would always get 3s or higher
