Have you ever seen something wrong with a standardized test? Standardized tests can have questions that are repetitive. Those questions have curriculum that isn’t needed. I think that they are redundant and should be cut down. Some questions on standardized tests aren’t needed and the U.S. should cut down on those questions and also the number of tests because other countries still outperform us, they damage the classroom experience, and take up too much time. In this paragraph, I will explain that other countries outperform the US. Other countries that take only 3 standardized tests ever outperform us and we take 112 tests from Pre-K to 12th grade. This shows that taking so many tests that are redundant doesn’t help. The redundant questions aren’t needed and should be cut down. This a reason the tests should be …show more content…
The tests damage the classroom experience because they take the fun out of learning. Teachers also spend more time teaching to the tests than actually doing other activities that help with the test such as worksheets that explain things that are on the test. Some classes spend more time doing things to prepare for the test than doing other activities. This paragraph explained why standardized tests take the fun out of learning and that teachers spend more time teaching to the test and that the tests should be cut down. In this paragraph I will explain why standardized tests take too much time. Standardized tests for 8th graders take 24.3 hours out of a year. Kids in Pre-K spend 4.8 hours testing. In my opinion I think that is too long for 4 or 5 year olds. The kids that take standardized tests spend too much time on them. The highest average number of standardized tests that are taken is by the 10th graders. The average number taken is 10.5 tests. The 8th graders have the longest time spent taking the tests. That explained why standardized tests take up too much
