Abraham Lincoln once said, “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” I have to be able to set goals and accomplish them. I need to do research and most importantly I have to find out who I am and what I am passionate about. I will be spending a lot of time to make my future great. I have learned how to prepare for college and how to save a lot of money. That is how I will be able to create a suitable future. I am planning to attend Stanford University, in Palo Alto, California. On October 1, 1891, Stanford University opened its doors after six years of planning and building. The founders of this prestigious school was Leland and Jane Stanford, in memory of their only child, Leland Stanford Jr., who died at age 15. The university is named in his honor. There is a five percent acceptance rate and Stanford has became one of the hardest colleges to get into. Stanford has seven schools and they are: business, earth sciences, education, engineering, humanities and sciences, law, and medicine. The Stanford Tree is the mascot of the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band. Stanford University has no official mascot. (“About Stanford University,” 2016)

I will be able to identify connections and parallels with other fields as they learn to formulate and evaluate health, environmental, and other public policy issues that influence human welfare. The core classes required of all human biology majors will provide me with the basic principles that will help me understand normal human physiology, human disease, and biomedical-related laboratories will provide me with educational breadth.
