Everyone have their own purpose when attending college due to reasons surrounding them. For instance, people pursue college to have a brighter future with good employment while some have the desire to gain better education to support their family. I personally wanted to attend college to gain the honor and respect from my parents’ who sometimes believe that going to college is useless for women. This interpretation of them has encouraged me to become who I am today. I have the intention to make them proud of me just like Gil being happy for his children.
College means alot to me and my family because my family's generation did not go to school because they had to stay home and help my grandparents. It's mostly important to me because my parents doubt me a lot that i won't make it far because the school only tells the the bad part of my attendance not the good part. It also means alot to us because not very many people in my family go to college so it makes us as a family proud of my success. Also for me it means i get to have a higher chance in my career i am planning to overcome. It will also pay off at the end so i can support and help my parents out of poverty.
Self-Reflection, Why I chose WMU College, and the decisions I had to make in regards to going, was not easy for me.
