Shakespeare vs the modern world
Shakespeare should not be read in schools because he does not spark the interest of most high school students. The lack of interest causes a disconnect within younger generations due to the apathetic nature of his works. A numerous range of books and poetry can contribute to the growth and development of students other than Shakespeare’s. In relation, imagine someone stranded on an island with just bananas and no other fruit. The stranded islander would get very sick of just having bananas and want oranges and strawberries. The same goes with Shakespeare students do not want Shakespeare stuck with them for the rest of their high school lives they want a range of options.

Shakespeare's nebulous word choice leaves high school students with anathema towards his books. This could be due to the fact that “his words were chosen to be spoken or heard, not to be read and deadened behind a desk”.(Powell, Mark The Guardian) Shakespeare wrote his plays for the purpose of entertainment of his viewers.
