Why We Should Do School Start Later

Everybody on this planet can agree that sleep is a beautiful thing. Whether your an adult, a baby, a younger, or an older child, it seems pretty clear that everyone of us can agree that we need more sleep throughout the week. Kids should have there schools start at a later time because that means more sleep! Although many of our bodies don't want to fully go to bed early, we still may want to have more time to sleep in the morning. Kids that have activities outside of or after school, get home late enough, along with sometimes loads of homework, and don't get to bed until an unnecessary late time. People don't like having to get up early, even though the day ends shorter when it starts earlier, some people would maybe rather have it the other way around. Skimping on sleep days has become a bad habit for most American children. And for most school-aged kids, 10 and 1/2 hours is ideal. Most kids are going to bed at 10 p.m. or later on school nights making it harder to wake up in the morning let alone trying to stay awake in class, which is why we need to change the times kids need to get up in the morning and leave for school all around the world. …show more content…

Exhaustion makes you grouchy and depressed. Having a good nights sleep makes you feel refreshed and so much better than not getting enough or any sleep at all. The thought of starting school classes later is a magnificent idea. It gives children more time to sleep and to feel more refreshed when they wake up and head off to school. One of the best things is that students will not be tired in school. Because sleepiness is such a problem for teenagers, schools in Minnesota now start at 8:30 a.m. instead of 7:25 a.m. and students there are saying they definitely feel more awake now in class and don't feel as if they are going to fall asleep. Also, teachers say they are pleased with the results and that fewer students fall asleep in class now, than
