To most families, pregnancy can be a blessing. To others, it’s a curse. Most the time, those others get abortions. That is when you stop the embryo from developing into a human. Many people don’t agree with abortions because they say that it’s murder and it should be illegal. Others think that it should be the pregnant families choice. Abortion should be legal because they don’t hurt anyone, it prevents children from being born into a miserable life, and they protect the woman’s health and well-being. Abortions occur in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. There isn’t a baby yet, there is an embryo. The embryo would only be an inch at 10 weeks old. At 13 weeks, the baby is three inches in length. That’s about the size of a ring finger. The embryo doesn’t have all that it needs to survive. It isn’t a baby, it has the potential to be one. They aren’t prepared. If they were to give birth, the child would be living in poor conditions. The mother could not have enough money to support the child, or the father could not be around. The mother could be in an unhealthy relationship and bringing a child into that would be bad for the kid. Many people argue and say if they aren’t ready, they should give the child up for abortion. There are 428,000+ children in foster care yearly in the United States. Only about 135,000 children end up getting adopted . They are usually in foster care for 2-5 years before adoption. Foster care can cause developmental and social issues amongst kids. They feel unloved since their biological parents didn’t want them and/or because they aren’t getting picked for adoption.
