The 2nd Amendment There was a time in our nation where our government was ruled by a tyrant. Where the laws were unlawful and unjust. We had taxes implemented on us without us voting or even having a say in it. Us as a nation grew up and revolted against our government, we revolted because we knew there was a better way to govern the people where everyone is free and had a say in what they wanted. The revolutionary war was our salvation from the British rule. We put our petty differences aside and came together. Many men fought and died to gain our freedom from Great Britain. They look at how they control their gun laws and see how they fair. They say that their violent crimes are much lower than ours. But they don’t understand that we have more people in our country, and because of that we will always have more crime than other countries. They believe that only our military should carry weapons. They also say police, which are here for our safety, they say that they should only use Tasers and non-lethal weapons. While people in our nation believe that guns are the most dangerous thing on earth. We have others that think that they will make our nation safer, they think that if everyone owns a gun less crime can happen because they know who has a gun and will be less tempted to commit crimes. On a more personal level, they feel safer when they are out and about. I own two guns now, which I use for hunting and marksmanship. The reasons I support this highly controversial topic, is that it’s the ultimate protection from the evil in this world. We have so much evil in this world. Another discussion that is controversial is whether or not our police officers should carry guns. I do believe that they should be able to carry guns. What people don’t understand is that criminals will always find a way to get a gun. There are many way for them to get weapons, and people just don’t understand that. When a police officer goes out on a patrol, they have no idea what they will be faced with. Then for civilians, I believe that they need to understand when it is and is not ok to use their weapons. For instance if your house get broken into and you are there. You are then allowed to use deadly force. You house is you castle, and you have the right to protect it. Then if you are out with friends or by yourself, as long as you have a concealed license, you can then have a gun on your person.
