In 1973, abortion was legalized within the United Stats of America, which resulted in the termination of over 57 million pregnancies. This equals to 1 pregnancy every 24 seconds, and totals to 155 in an hour alone. With these statistics, it’s a marvel as to why abortion is still legal in some parts of the world.

There are many reasons as to why abortion should be illegal all over the world, such as the reasons against abortion that are listed for you within this essay.

Life Begins At Conception

Any respectable medical textbook will explain that life begins at the exact moment of conception, which further declares the beginning of life as soon as the egg is fertilized inside of the mother. Though pro-choicers will say that life only begins …show more content…

For example, a preborn baby at approximately 3 months along is not a complete human being, but that a newborn baby is a complete human being.

Therefore, size is not a determining factor, and is one of the largest reasons against abortion, because there is no potential when it comes to being a life, as life makes you a human being in general, no matter how big or small that life may be.

Abortion Steps On the Toes of God

Though those who are pro-choice believe that abortion is simply a person choice, it’s extremely offensive and a critical blow to God, His creations, and His words. If you are a follower of God, then you know that it does not state in the Bible that abortion is illegal, but you know that murder is a sin through The Ten Commandments. Therefore, offending God is one of the many reasons against abortion, because it is in fact murder.

Whether you are an American citizen or not, going over the Constitution will give you a prime example as to why abortion is wrong, and not given enough recognition when it comes to pro-life. Abortion is not in the Constitution, and was legalized because of the implied privacy right within the Fourteenth Amendment. However, privacy itself on its own is not in the Constitution.

“Our nationwide policy of abortion-on-demand through all nine months of pregnancy was neither voted for by our people nor enacted by our legislators-not a single state had such unrestricted abortion before the Supreme Court decreed it to be national policy in 1973.”

Therefore giving the Constitution a spot for one of the major reasons against abortion, as it shows that “privacy” and humanity are obviously not of the same
