I currently work as an Administrative Assistant for a company that deals with both upstream and downstream customers, and we also have a sales department. We offer products as well as services. I will explain what upstream and downstream customers are. We are e-cyclers, which means that we receive electronic products from our customers, these would be considered our upstream customers, and then break them down. If the product can still be used, it moves on to either be resold, or refurbished and then resold. If it is not in working order, or is an obsolete product, it is broken down and then sent to other companies who specialize in that particular material, these are our downstream customers. We also have regular customers, our consumers, who purchase our electronic parts or our refurbished electronics. We also offer data destruction services. Our office area is basically split into two, those being our ARS side and our sales side. I work on the ARS side, so I work exclusively with our upstream and downstream customers. It is my job to keep a record of everything that goes on throughout the facility, writing reports throughout the entire process. Therefore, I am in charge of all logistical aspects at my company. This is of particular interest to me because I find great joy in organization, data analysis, and problem solving. I have been lucky enough to find a position where I get to practice all of these things on a daily basis. I enjoy watching a product go from start to finish. It is amazing to me that a product can enter our building looking like it should be thrown in the garbage, but after just a short period of time, that same product ends up leaving our building having been sold for hundreds of
