Education to me is a critical building block that shapes the world and pushes the boundaries of individuals to achieve astounding milestones. Rutgers has the resources and opportunities to achieve those milestones an individual like me to further pursue a stronger foundation in the field of filmmaking. From a significant roster of courses and advanced equipment available to students. These are several key factors of the program that will aid in my success at Rutgers and to my filmmaking career.
Specifically, the Mason Gross School of the Arts has key courses and an impressive faculty in the filmmaking program that will enhance my technical and artistic skills in my career. After graduating from my previous college, Raritan Valley Community College, which started the momentum of my career. There I would collaborate with my classmates and engage with fellow peers to work on film projects that further pushed me to improve my skills. However, my knowledge was limited and not as diversified as it could be. From understanding that predicament and how I knew my career will benefit from further continuing my education, it was a difficult decision to take some time off from school to pursue endeavors that would benefit me in areas I was insufficient in.
Furthermore, witnessing first-hand how industry professionals worked on-set to also meeting new people that have been vital connections showed me how without them I could have not attained the much-needed professionalism and work ethic that I was missing.
