n the story “ All Summer in A Day”, Ray Bradbury tells the story of young Margot who has recently moved to Venus from Ohio. On venus the sun only comes out every seven years, the children are nine and have only been alive to see the sun once. Margot craves to move back to earth and see the sun once again. Margot dearly misses the sun and is always talking about how beautiful and warm it was. The other children are quite jealous of her. Following the crowd is shown a lot in this story. Such as when William is like “let's throw her in a closet “, none of the children stop him even though they should. When people follow the crowd there just trying to do what everyone else does and fit in. When following the crowd others may not recognize they are acutely hurting another person. William (the antagonist) intentionally hurts Margot over and over again even though he realizes that Margot is getting worse and worse every day. Sometimes in the story the tone can be violent or very descriptive, such as “ ..With the sweet crystal fall of showers and the concussion of storms so heavy.. A thousand forest have been crushed under the rain and grown up a thousand times to be crushed again”. Sometimes the tone is opposite and very happy such as “They turned themselves like a ferris wheel” because they were so happy to see the sun. The children have very big emotions towards the sun because they were to young to remember it the last time they saw it
