My Education goals are why I chose APUS, When I graduated from high school in 2014 I started my ROP Dental Assisting program to become a Certified Dental assistant in the state of California so that I could get my foot in the door in Dentistry to one day become a Dental Hygienist. But now here I am two years later working as a full time dental assistant and I have no passion or desire in pursuing in becoming a Hygienist because its not something I feel I could really be happy with and do for the rest of my life. My real passion has always been with children I have always loved working with children weather it was when I was working at a daycare in high school or when I was a cheerleading coach for young girls between the ages of 4-9, I have
During my participation at Hope Academy I …. that the community and myself are pleased with the work and effort provided by Pam Picou. At Hope Academy Mrs. Pam Picou is in charge of coming talk to students at Our Lady of the Lake. She dedicates her time to explain what Hope Academy is all about and helps you understand what you will be doing at you time of service. The volunteering offers you to be able to help students in developing their social and learning skills.
My biggest expectation going into the internship at DFCS was that I would learn more about the social work/social services field and confirm that social work was truly what I wanted to spend my life doing as a career. I also expected to confirm my thought that DFCS was a place I would enjoy working and could see myself working in the future after graduate school. This internship met my personal expectations, however it happened in a way much differently than I expected. While the internship experience did confirm that I love social work and the social services field, it showed me that DFCS is not the agency that I want to work with as a career. I stand behind DFCS 100%; however, I don’t think I could work with DFCS long term.

After glancing over the criteria this course provides, I am very excited to have the opportunity to learn more about the qualities of a Residence Assistance. After I have finished this course, the four things I hope to have learned are, a wide knowledge about how to excel as a Resident Assistant, tips on how to manage work, social, and student life as an RA, ideas of how to present material to diverse cultural backgrounds, and helpful ways to build upon leadership qualities. My Idea of the Primary Role of an RA I live in Woody/Shales in the Lafollette complex and from my community and interaction with my RA, I have noticed that my RA is not very social.
I learned something very important as I visited and did research on Palm Beach Atlantic University; it is a place where the spiritual aspect of my life could be an integral part of my college experience. I believe that at PBA. , I can achieve both my short- and long-term goals as someone who wants to follow in the path God has laid out for me. I look forward to intertwining my Christian beliefs with my academic and social endeavors at PBA, knowing that God has his hand on my shoulder leading me in the right direction. The morals and policies of the school fit me as an individual because I choose to be involved with activities that contribute to my personal and spiritual development.
This third quarter of AP Language & Composition was quite similar but also different in ways compared to the previous semester. Having already experienced half a school year of the class, I was already aware of the expectations and the work requirements needed. One big difference in approach was how I brainstormed for ideas. Last semester, most of our writing was rather formulaic and didn’t rely much on creativity and chose the most convenient topic for the task. However, this semester’s focus on satirical writing was quite different in how we chose a subject and approached the satire.
At Hawai’i Pacific University, I plan on obtaining vital skills to produce systems thinking problem solving skills to engage our communities towards a viral social change towards a sustainable tomorrow for future generations. We live on a planet with finite resources and with the exponential growth of globalization, international economies are producing goods and services that reach beyond demand and are creating surpluses that are not utilizing our resources efficiently. My main goal, with this degree program, is to gain the knowledge required to promote environmental consciousness and social responsibility in the modern business era. Our local communities are where this awareness is the most critical. Through education, community-based social marketing, and grassroots tactics sustainability leaders can construct a solid foundation in which sustainable business practices can become a normality locally then
“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” – Henry Ford. I completely agree with this quote as I believe that learning is a non- stop process. I learned many new things in WRI 101 that had not been taught to me in high school.
ELA I find I need to come up with multiple instructional strategies prior to instructing my lessons. When it comes to ELA, you really need to know your students learning needs in order to prepare for any modifications in advance. When I was placed in a first grade class, children were working on basic literary skills. I found this easy to teach to students and found that providing additional support was all students in the class needed. However, with third grade the curriculum is more advanced and goes beyond literary skills.
This semester in English 1100, College Composition 1, I have learned a lot. At the beginning of this semester, I had set my mind that I was certainly going to achieve and learn a lot. During the start of the semester, I had several difficulties writing the English essay assignments especially in terms of expanding, grammar, and picking good enough topics. I have not had an English class since junior year of high school and that was about 3 and a half years ago. During the first week of the semester I sat down, prepared my thoughts and understood that throughout the semester I had to achieve all that I had planned for this semester.
Helping people on a larger scale is a goal of mine, and entering college is the only viable option for me to pursue my goal in
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
College was always one of my long term goals as I continued with my education. Throughout the years I began to work harder and harder so I could secure my future. I knew that getting to college would not be easy. I am about to embark on a four year journey in one of the hardest fields to pursue. I will continue my education as a Nursing major at a four year university.
so when I start my career I can be prepared. My mother was not able to go to a university when she graduated high school because she became pregnant with me. Because of her struggles, she has always instilled in me that graduating from a four-year university is the most important thing to do in my life. If I went to college, I would have a bright and successful future because I would be fully developed into a responsible and well-rounded young
