With the sheer amount of gun related deaths in our society, it is sad to see nothing else being done to prevent it. As evidence, other countries have taken action by cracking down on weapons and stating what the public is allowed to own and what the public shall never receive. The picture above is just and example of how out of hand America has become with its guns. Based on the information above, our homicide rate due to guns is nearly four times worse than any other country named in the diagram. Correspondingly, the smaller amount of guns within the public of the United States potentially means there will be a smaller impact of deaths caused by unnecessary weaponry.
If the government were to step in and make a change, they could at least lower the amount of deadly weapons in the U.S. The shear amount of guns we have is astonishing compared to other countries.
In the figure shown, it explains true evidence that America’s problem with guns is skyrocketing out of control. As a comparison of guns to the population, in the United States there are approximately 88.7 guns per 100 people. Horrifyingly, this number is over 3 times the amount of guns than the majority of the countries listed above have compared to their population. Certain people feel this way without understanding the whole point of gun control. Modification to the second amendment to restrict the kinds of weapons everyone in the United States may own is for the safety of all. Without the threats that we have today, there would be no need for technically advanced weapons for a sense of safety. The only guns Americans should be able to own are guns for hunting or self defense with low capacity clips, not AK 47’s or AR 15’s with extended magazines that hold anywhere from 30 to 90 rounds a
